GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - The Atlantic Coast Conference officially becomes a 15-team league Monday with the additions of Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Notre Dame.

ACC Commissioner John Swofford says the league is in "a really good place right now."

The ACC first invited Pitt and Syracuse in September 2011, then Notre Dame said a year later that it would join in all league sports except football. Louisville is scheduled to replace Maryland in 2014.

Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick says a man recently stopped him on campus to say the ACC move was "the best thing Notre Dame could have done."

The league is currently considering whether to start its own TV channel as well as to hold its men's basketball tournament in New York.
