VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - For the Justice family, basketball is a way of life. From Peebles, Ohio to Valdosta, Georgia. Blake and Beau are legends, the latter earning Gulf South Conference Player of the Year honors this season. Blake has been an assistant with the men's team since 2017.
Now, their younger sister Jacey is looking to pave her own path.
"I can remember her having her face painted, with her little blonde curls at the end of my bench," smiled Beau. "I remember a couple of times she would be in 4th or 5th grade, she would come up, saying you need to take this guy off the dribble to the right, like he's lacking on that side. At that time you're like, did she really just say that as a 4th grader to me watching high school boys varsity basketball."
A rising sophomore, Jacey averaged just under 19 points a game last year on varisty as a freshman, and she's only getting better.
"She came out here and has quickness and her ball handling ability is doing really good too," said Beau. "It's good combination for her to be at this level she is and she'll increase because she has the desire to work hard too."
"You know she's extremely happy because it was like she had to live up to that standard," added Blake. "Now she's making her own name for herself and its kind of nice to see."
Due to schedules and time away, Beau and Blake have only seen their sister play a handful of times, which made this weekend a special one, as Peebles made their way to TitleTown to compete in the Lady Blazers Team Camp.
"It got me real excited, because they are known around here as big guys," laughed Jacey. "I have to show them I can be down here too."
"Watching her play here and she's a completely different player than she was five months ago," added Blake. "It's kind of a surreal moment, like wow little sis has grown up!"
Jacey Justice: "I wanna be better than them, but I wanna do my own thing to get better than them."
Jacey is ready to take off and the bond between her and her brothers, will only grow as the years go by.
