MIDWAY, FL (WTXL) -- There are two areas of tropical interest being watched.
The first area is situated on the east coast of Florida, between Daytona Beach and St. Augustine. Gusty winds and rain tonight and Sunday will occur across southeast Big Bend and south-central Georgia counties. Conditions do not look favorable for this to gain tropical characteristics. There is a 20% that it will do so over the next 5 days as it continues traveling north.
A tropical wave over the eastern Caribbean Sea is creating disorganized thunderstorm activity over Puerto Rico, the Leeward Islands and Virgin Islands. There is a 0% it will become a tropical system in the next 5 days. However, it will still leave heavy rainfall over the next several days as it travels west-northwest at 10 mph.
