TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTYXL) — ABC 27 has been running a new series called The Rebound.

We're committed to helping you manage the pressure, do what's right, make ends meet and get back to work.

As many companies lay people off due to the coronavirus, one resource in the Big Bend are is helping people find jobs.

Kara Palmer Smith is the senior director at Career Source Capital Region.

"I'm working with employers to help them find the talent that they need," said Palmer Smith.

With over a decade of experience helping local businesses and economic development, Smith says the pandemic has changed the way everyone does business.

"We have never seen anything like this," Palmer Smith said.

She says what a lot of companies actually need right now are workers.

Grocery stores, long-term care facilities and tech positions all have employment opportunities.

"We have a lot of workers who are not wanting to go back to work right now," said Palmer Smith.

Some just don't want to get sick. But If you are looking for work, Palmer Smith says be ready.

"Just be ready for employers to use virtual selection processes," Palmer Smith said.

Meaning video conferencing for interviews and even the on-boarding process when you get the job. The same goes for help from Career Source.

"We still are offering the same things that we always have," Palmer Smith said. "The only difference is that most of it is virtually or over the phone."

Career Source services are free to job seekers and employers all trying to help our economy rebound.

"We are still here to help people," said Palmer Smith.
