GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a man and woman are being accused of leaving their 9-month-old baby on the side of the road during an argument.
Local media reports that 33-year-old Heather Demonia and 30-year-old Thomas Broome were arrested and charged with reckless conduct after the incident Thursday afternoon. The child was not injured and is in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services.
Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes says a convenience store clerk found the baby on the side of the road in a car seat and called 911.
Investigators say Demonia came back and claimed the child belonged to her.
