(WTXL) - All middle and high schools across Florida may soon have a police officer on campus.
The commission investigating the Parkland school massacre voted 9-5 Wednesday to approve the recommendation.
Oponents said the plan is unrealsitic due to the high cost, about $400 million annually, and lack of available police officers.
The commission says elementary schools could be protected by an armed security guard or non-teaching staff member.
