TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — With the economic uncertainties from the coronavirus, we here at ABC 27 are shining a light on businesses that are doing their part to help out the community while keeping their business open.

One in three people have a musculoskeletal condition.

It's a condition that can cause a lot of pain and can be debilitating for frontline workers who are working around the clock during this pandemic.

One of the primary symptoms that comes with a musculoskeletal condition is pain.

"Pain limits our ability to function at home, to function at work, school at recreation, to have leisure events," said Brianna Cunningham, the community wellness director at The Center for Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy.

The Center for Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy is offering telehealth initial assessments and first appointments free of charge to all frontline healthcare workers experiencing a musculoskeletal condition during this time.

But, it's not just healthcare workers who can experience that kind of pain during this pandemic.

"So, we understand that a lot of people are at home right now, they feel there is a big risk coming into the clinic so we want to be able to provide an outlet for people to be able to get the treatment they need," said Cunningham. "We know a lot of people are sitting down throughout the day, on the couch, which brings a larger increase of risk of musculoskeletal conditions, there's a big need right now."

You can also find out if you are at risk or dealing with musculoskeletal conditions, by downloading their free mobile app, called Joint Strong.
