THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) — With the economic uncertainties from the coronavirus, we here at ABC 27 are shining a light on businesses that are doing their part to help out the community while keeping their business open.
What initially started from two co-workers in a restaurant in Manhattan, NY has become one of the most coveted restaurants in Thomasville, Ga.
After working together in Manhattan, NY, Chef John Gregory and his now-wife Carroll, who specializes in hospitality, had the bright idea of creating a restaurant with ties to John's roots located in Carroll's hometown.
That's how Empire Bagel and Delicatessen was born.
Empire Bagel set itself apart by crafting numerous flavors of hand-rolled bagels and treats from scratch curated by chefs that can be paired into many sandwich combinations for breakfast and lunch.
Carroll Gregory said that they've had a huge amount of support from the community since the pandemic began and have worked to adapt the deli for COVID-19 safety and comfort.
"We've gotten a little creative with the pandemic," said Carroll Gregory. "We do a lot of weekly specials, and we also encourage our guests to use our curbside pickup. You can find our menu online or in the store. You can always call ahead with your order, and then you can pick your order up. You don't even have to leave your car, we can bring it right to you."
Empire Bagel and Deli are also no strangers to servicing the community. Since the pandemic, they have also partnered with local businesses to give back to first responders and medical workers.
Open from Tuesdays to Saturdays, you too can try one of the many chef-curated artisan bagels.
