TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — With the economic uncertainties from the coronavirus, we here at ABC 27 are shining a light on businesses that are doing their part to help out the community while keeping their business open.

In the eighth week of our "We're Open" series, we're highlighting how businesses are adapting during this pandemic to be open and give back to the community.

One local waxing salon is sticking to the strict safety guidelines to keep everyone safe.

'Coronabrows,' 'quarantine brows,' or whatever you want to call them, the owner of Bare Waxing says, within two hours of announcing their reopening, they were fully booked.

Despite being closed, employees at Bare Waxing were paid the entire time, staying busy and preparing for whenever they'd be able to re-open.

From ordering extra supplies and cleaning products to installing a partition at the front desk, even adjusting operating procedures to adhere to any additional state guidelines, the staff prepped for it all.

Since reopening Monday, clients are taken by appointment only, waiting in their cars until their service provider is ready.

Upon check-in, they are asked a series of questions, given a temperature check and required to wear masks.

Bare Waxing CEO Victoria Landy says it's all done in an effort to make everyone feel safe and confident.

"You have 'coronabrows' now, and now we are going to fix them and make you look fabulous again," said Landy. "And it makes them feel good! It's healthy, it's safe, they don't have to worry about anything, because the health and safety of not only our guests, but also our staff is incredibly important."

Bare Waxing is also giving back to frontline workers, donating 300 spa gift bags to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.

In the next few weeks, they'll be giving out bags to EMTs and health department employees.
