TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL) — The owner of the Gritz n' Greenz food truck is teaching the community how to stick together, one taste bud at a time.

Lance McGinnis has committed to gifting up to 10 free meals to identifiable health care professionals and first responders through the end of the month.

“Everything’s crafted with a depth of flavor that makes your brain say, ‘what’s going on here,’ you know. ‘Man, I like this, I don’t even know why,’” said McGinnis.

In addition to his uniquely savory recipes, one reason could be the plan he put together to support health care workers and first responders during the coronavirus pandemic.

He’s footing the bill for several of their meals, and challenging other local food trucks to do the same.

“Our business has suffered just like everybody else, and what we kind of figured was, let’s turn this around," McGinnis said. "instead of complaining and worrying about how business is suffering, let’s give and kind of invest into the turn around.”

While he’s prepared to cover the cost entirely, he welcomes supporters to sponsor meals for health care workers.

You can donate electronically through Cashapp to $gritzngreenz, by phone, (850)251-6860, or visit him this Friday near the intersection of Thomasville Rd. and Kerry Forest Parkway.
