HAVANA, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol says a 72-year-old woman was life-flighted to a hospital in serious condition after her car overturned and hit a barn.
Troopers say that Iris McCauley, a Havana resident, was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 27 north of McNair Road around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday when her car traveled off the right side of the road.
When she tried to maneuver her car back onto the road, the car began spinning clockwise.
This caused McCauley's car to drive off the road again, this time traveling down an embankment and overturning before hitting a livestock fence and a barn.
Troopers say McCauley was transported to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital by helicopter for treatment.
Right now, troopers report that she is listed in serious conditions.
We will update this story as we confirm more details.
