A World War II veteran received an amazing gift for his 94th birthday - in fact, he received 300,000 amazing gifts - a $300,000 lottery win.

CNN reported the incredible story of Ervin Smolinski of South Branch, Michigan. Years ago, Smolinski began to purchase lotto tickets as birthday gifts for his relatives, and the relatives started doing the same for his birthday.

A scratch-off ticket he received this birthday from his daughter-in-law ended up being a winner, to the tune of $300,000.

When asked by representatives of the Michigan Lottery how he intends to spend his new found fortune, Smolinski said he wants to buy a new shed and a better used car.

Smolinksi said he's always been frugal and watched his money, something he doesn't plan to change after his win. However, he did say it'll allow him to not worry about money.
