SARASOTA CO., FL (WWSB) – A Sarasota man was arrested for a stabbing at a nightclub on Thursday.
Just before 2:30 a.m., deputies responded to a call at 5147 Ocean Boulevard on Siesta Key. Two men were fighting and one possibly had a gun.
The argument began over a spilled drink.
When the bar closed, the victim was confronted in the parking lot by one of the men who hit him in the face earlier. The suspect used a knife to stab him in the back.
The victim was able to drive himself to a local hospital.
During a photo lineup, the victim identified the suspect as 24-year-old Andreas Leonardo Montilla-Monsalve.
Deputies obtained video surveillance from the nightclub corroborating the 911 calls with the time of the stabbing, and identified Montilla-Monsalve as the aggressor.
On Friday, Montilla-Monsalve was arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. He remains in custody at the Sarasota County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
