SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Troopers said that one 18-year-old woman is in the hospital for serious injuries after a two car crash in Suwanee County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that 18-year-old Haley Peterson was driving south on County Road 137 and Roberto Randelston, 65, was traveling in the opposite direction on the same road, on Wednesday around 9 a.m.

They said that Peterson lost control of the car and drove into the lane Randelston was riding in, causing them to hit each other.

After the first hit, troopers said that Peterson's car spun around clockwise and hit Randelston's car once again, this time with the back of the car.

Peterson was transported to the UF Health Shands Hospital for serious injuries while Randelston was treated for minor injuries at the Lake City Medical Center.

Troopers said that charges are still pending in the investigation of this crash.
