THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - A 8-year-old boy who was run over by a golf cart in Thomasville has died from his injuries.
WALB reported that the boy died Thursday morning.
They said that the incident happened on Sunday afternoon on Oak Trace Drive off Old Monticello Road in Thomasville.
According to WALB, troopers said that an 11-year-old was driving the cart when the 8-year-old ran out in front of the cart and was accidentally hit.
"We believe the children were playing some type of game that would involve the children to run around the golf cart. The golf cart was being operated in the roadway," GSP Post Commander Tommy Peeples told WALB.
They said that there were three other children on the cart at the time.
They reported that the child was taken to Archbold Hospital in Thomasville then was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital due to the child's serious injuries.
