COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) — A third teenager has been charged in the slayings of a Columbus-area woman, her teenage son and her young granddaughter during an apparent break-in their home earlier this year.
Columbus police announced Wednesday that an unidentified 15-year-old boy will face three counts of murder and two counts of auto theft in addition to other charges.
A 17-year-old boy and 19-year-old Raheam Gibson were arrested about a week after the fatal Jan. 4 beatings of 54-year-old Gloria Short, 17-year-old Caleb Short and 10-year-old Gianna Lindsey in their Muscogee County home.
Investigators say the 15-year-old is the "final" subject wanted in the homicides.
An autopsy showed each of the three victims sustained "extreme blunt-force trauma to the head," with the two female victims also having been stabbed multiple times.
