TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It's week three of the high school football season in the state of Florida and thanks to last year's switch in how teams make the playoff, making that perfect schedule is more important than ever.
Two schedules will be tested this week as Madison County takes on Florida High in our Friday Night Football game of the week.
Both teams are ranked in the top five in their classification. Madison County are the reigning Class 1-A State Champs and the Seminoles reached the Class 3-A State Final Four a season ago.
Both Madison's Mike Coe and Florida High head coach Jarrod Hickman have a lot of respect for one another and a lot of respect for the talent they're facing Friday night.
Consistency and doing the little things, that'll be the difference maker on Friday and these two are ready to get after it.
"We don't have to do anything out of the ordinary, we just have to do the right things," said Hickman. "Take care of the football, be very good in the run game on both sides of the ball and then just go play good, sound football."
"They play hard and they're going to play really hard when they play us. You're going to have to beat them," said Coe. "They're not going to beat themselves."
Madison County defeated Florida High 33-17 Friday night.
