TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Maclay and Aucilla Christian have a lot of similarities.
Both are private schools, both picked up week one wins, and for both schools, those wins? They were of the shut-out fashion.
This week they're playing each other and that match-up is our Friday night football game of the week.
85 points scored between these two teams last week, but both know this week is going to be a different story.
Both Aucilla's Colby Roberts and Maclay's Lance Ramer have a lot of respect for each other.
Both teams expect a tough football game and these two are comparable on a lot of fronts.
Again, both coming off big wins and now they look to carry that momentum into week two.
"I always tell the guys, you see the most improvement from game one to game two and unfortunately we took a step back in the first half," said Roberts. "We got our guys refocused and they played really strong in the second half so we're just really preaching consistency to our guys."
"We faced some adversity. We had to defend some sudden changes. We had to give up the ball inside our twenty, inside our ten," said Ramer. "I like the way we finished and I like the way we played hard."
Maclay defeated Aucilla Christian 48-14 Friday night.
