HAHIRA, Ga. (WTXL) - There's just two weeks remaining in the regular season for high school football teams. The final push to up those region standings and lock in a spot in the State playoffs.
Such is the case for Valwood and Brookwood this week, and it just so happens they're rivals.
Valwood is hosting the Brookwood Warriors and it's our Friday Night Football Game of the Week.
So a big Friday night in Hahira and one with playoff seeding on the line. Brookwood, one and two in Triple-A Region 3, play Valwood, who is still looking for their first Region win.
A win Friday night puts the winner in a good position for the playoffs as far as seeding goes, but both Brookwood's Shane Boggs and Valwood's Justin Henderson know getting a win is not going to be easy.
The two teams match up very well, their losses are nearly identical, and both will have to be ready to play Friday night.
"I think it could very well be another one of those games that comes down to you know,there's a handful of big plays in a game, and whoever makes one more big play wins the game," said Boggs. "So protect the football, tackle well, take advantage of your turnovers."
"I think everybody realizes if we can keep building, keep building we can be where we want to be in the end," said Henderson.
