#WTXLFNF Camp Chat: Madison County Cowboys

(WTXL) - When it comes to high school football in the Big Bend, Madison County is the team to beat.

The Cowboys went 14-0 en route to a 1A State title last year, and this year, the same expectations are in place.

Madison County is up next for our Friday Night Football Camp Chat.

The Cowboys beat opponents through six different classifications last year, a tough slate, and yes, the Boys were just that good.

While last year's team graduated a lot of seniors, there's still a lot of guys back, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Florida State commit Travis Jay will play quarterback for the Boys and head coach Mike Coe, excited about this year's team, notes there's no pressure for a repeat.

"I moved a couple of weeks ago to a new house and my mom got on me. She found my ring laying in a bucket somewhere. That's not putting down last year and all that, but that's over with," said Coe. "I told our juniors, if you look up on that board, man, imagine if you could go have a great year and do it again what kind of legacy you'd leave. You'd make it mighty tough on the guys coming behind you, but that's what you want to do!"

That work ethic continues this Friday when Madison travels to Crestview for their kickoff classic.
