(WTXL) - As soon as the clock struck midnight, Florida high schools could open up fall football practice.
The Maclay Marauders, getting to it early.
6-5 a year ago, just missing out on the postseason. But this year, the Marauders expect to build upon what was their best year since 2014.
Maclay is the only other school in our area taking on midnight madness.
Entering year number three under head coach Lance Ramer, last year, over 500 for the first time since 2012.
An experienced quarterback in the mix, veteran line, and how about a squad over 30 players all buying in, ready to go, even in the wee hours of the morning.
"You'll see a group that is ready to deal with adversity," said Ramer. "Like I said they will play every play like it's their last, and I think great things can happen to those types of teams."
A team ready to go. Maclay will open up their season on August the 24 at home against Bell.
