#WTXLFNF Camp Chat: Lanier County Bulldogs

Posted

LANIER COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - The Lanier County Bulldogs have struggled as of late and they've one six games in the last five years.

The Bulldogs, under new leadership in Head Coach Kurt Williams, is looking to change the tide in Lakeland.

Williams said his main objective when he got there in March was to establish a weight program, and the kids have bought in.

The Bulldogs are young, 75 percent of this group are sophomores and freshman. They have just two seniors, and Williams wants this group to focus on taking things one day at a time.

"Our scheme had to be very simple, because we're not dealing with 17 and 18-year-olds, we're dealing with 14, 15 and 16-year-olds and we're learning how to get to practice on time, create winning practice habits, where that translates into the game and they can see results and we're just trying to get them to buy into the process and not immediate results," said Williams.

Lanier County is on the road at Montgomery County on August 24.
