#WTXLFNF Camp Chat: Gadsden County Jaguars

Posted

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Preseason ball kicks off next week for high school football teams in the state of Florida and Gadsden County will be playing with an admitted chip on their shoulder, and Head Coach Joey Striplin is loving it.

The Jags played a tough slate last year with a lot of bigger schools on their schedule.

Striplin says they're changing up their offense a bit this year and they're going to run the ball a lot because they will be young at quarterback.

But Striplin has been impressed with the way they've been working and with experience back in a lot of places, this group is ready for a big fall.

"When you have guys calling you up about the weight room, about the season coming up, and just excited about the season, it's fun. When you have young guys that are led by your offensive line who are pretty much all back, and the older group, that's really exciting," said Striplin. "That's what makes it fun, about guys that aren't complaining about being in the weight room and working."
