BRANFORD, Fl. (WTXL) - The Branford Buccaneers are entering year number two under Tim Clark, and the Bucs are looking to turn a corner with Clark in his second season.
Branfod finished 5-5 in 2017, the closest they've come to a winning season since 2010. Something else they want to accomplish this season? Make the playoffs, something that's eluded them for nearly two decades.
Coach Clark says they aren't satisfied, this group. is hungry for me. At the skill positions, the Bucs are pretty seasoned. They'll be young on the offensive and defensive lines, but he's hoping experience will pay off in helping the young guys.
"We see guys come out this year and we don't have to reteach the terminology. They're just getting in formations and running it," he said. "I'm really happy with that and like you say, you asked some guys who have been leading that along. Guys like CJ Peppers who's been in the program a long time, Caleb Kessler who's been on the line for three or four years now. Guys like that bring guys along and tell them what to do. We see seniors coach younger guys and that's what you want."
Branford opens the regular season at home against Munroe on the 24th.
