TALLAHASSEE, FL (#WTXLDigital) -- It has been 13 years since the September 11th attacks, but the memories are still very much alive. Local first responders share their recollection of a day that brought us closer as nation, and remind us to commemorate the lives lost.
Major Lewis Johnson of the Tallahassee Police Department says " It's always hard to come out on this day and think back thirteen years ago to what happened."
This tragic event has sparked a sense of American pride and shows us that "nothing will stand to take away those freedoms and rights that we hold," said Major Johnson. This day serves as a reminder to uphold our support for this country, and to never forget what happened on September 11th.
