One of these businesses is Mike's Beer Barn. Employee Brian Laughridge says that business booms on game day weekend. It's all hands on deck at the store as Brian had to cut his Thanksgiving Break short to work game day weekend for the big rivalry game against the Florida Gators.
Game day weekends cause a dramatic increase for the store from around a couple grand on non-game day weekends to over $10,000 on game day weekends.
The extra revenue is caused by the avid tailgaters who come to support the Noles and their opponents. According to Laughridge, all business is welcomed, even Gator fans.
