TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- ABC27 gets an exclusive interview with the Tallahassee woman charged with criminal mischief after she tried to take a display down at the State

Capitol.

Susan Hemeryck was caught on surveillance video trying to damage a satanic Christmas display.

Those charges have been dropped. ABC 27 caught up with Hemeryck earlier Sunday afternoon and found out why she wanted to remove the display and how she's feeling now that it's all over.

"I felt that it was completely wrong. Completely, grossly offensive and it had to be removed. I'm very relieved. My faith in the government here has been restored. I feel like they have justly recognized and upheld the truth," said Hemeryck.

WTXL ABC 27 also had the chance to speak to her attorney. He said the charges were dropped because there was no sign of criminal intent.

Michael Bauer explained, "In this case Ms. Hemeryck didn't want a fight. She didn't want to be arrested. She didn't want to be charged. She just simply wanted this display to be removed. She followed the catechism. This was non-violent, peaceful protest and when she attempted to remove it and the guards told her not to, she let go of it."

Hemryck was scheduled to appear in court Monday.WT
