JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A worker has been taken to a Tallahassee hospital with serious injuries after getting hit by a car while cleaning up on I-10 Thursday afternoon.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened on Thursday around 12:48 p.m.
Troopers say Susan Skinner, 60, of Grand Ridge was going coming off an eastbound exit ramp at mile marker 152 when she ran off the road, hitting a car that was parked on the right shoulder.
A road cleaning worker, identified as 28-year-old Kenneth Holiway of Bonifay, was standing in front of the parked car when Skinner's car hit him. FHP says Skinner's car struck tree debris before coming to a stop in the grass shoulder.
Holiway was transported to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries while Skinner was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Troopers say Skinner has been charged with failure to drive in a single lane.
