VENICE, Fla. (AP) — Police say a worker died after a concrete wall collapsed on top of him at a southwest Florida waste-water treatment plant.
Interim Venice Police Chief Thomas Matt Muller says the 35-year-old man was involved in demolition work at the City of Venice Eastside Water Reclamation Facility.
Matt Muller tells the Herald Tribune that the wall collapsed, crushing the victim underneath concrete rubble.
The man has not been identified. Matt Muller says he was an employee of an independent contractor.
The medical examiner, police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
