OHIO (WTXL) - Two Ohio women say they now share the bond of sisters after they both underwent a kidney transplant, and received organs from the same donor.
A life-threatening illness brought Sarah Green-Moore and Renee Paige together.
In December, the women got the same phone call that the wait for a kidney was finally over.
The same day Sarah and Renee got transplants after meeting each other in a waiting area, and workers at the hospital told them they would be receiving a kidney from the same donor.
Friendship sometimes happens when you least expect it and Sarah and Renee, who share an experience most never will.
The women hope to one day thank the donor's family, but it will be six months before they learn details about the donor.
That's to allow the donor's family time to grieve.
