LEON Co., FL (WTXL) - Deputies say they successfully prevented a knife attack early Friday morning.
Cassandra Weston was tased and arrested after she threatened a women with a knife in the 600 block of Steele Drive around 4:30am Friday morning, according to the Leon County Sheriff's Office.
According to a press release from LCSO, the victim says she woke to Weston armed with a knife, banging on her door and yelling that she, "wanted to fight anyone inside the house."
When deputies arrived, Weston was approaching the victim with the knife. Weston dropped the knife after commands from deputies but continued to approach the victim.
A deputy tased Weston and she was arrested without further incident.
Leon County Sheriff Mike Wood stated, "This incident could have easily escalated into a tragedy for multiple families. I am glad other options were available to the deputies and I am proud of the restraint they applied during this incident because each life in our community matters."
