Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL) - A plea deal was reached Monday morning for the driver of the car that killed 24-year-old Lavon Reese in January 2015.
Ashli Harvey pleaded no contest to vehicular homicide.
According to law enforcement, she was speeding and texting when she hit Reese's car.
Police say Harvey also had drug paraphernalia in her car at the time of the accident.
Harvey was sentenced to three years in prison.
Once released from prison she will spend the next five years on probation and will be have to undergo random drug testing.
