Woman Run Over Twice, Man Faces Murder Charge

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a 53-year-old man ran over a woman two times and then left her for dead outside a South Florida food stores.

Pompano Beach fire rescue crews took 55-year-old Barbara "Bobbie" Sapp to a hospital where she died later Saturday night. Now Lawton Cohen faces first-degree murder charges.

The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/1FiRwpx ) reports Cohen and Sapp were arguing when Cohen moved his vehicle forward. Sapp was leaning her head in the window and fell to the ground when the vehicle moved.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, Cohen backed up and then ran over her one more time before driving away.

Officials released a video of the incident and a detective recognized Cohen as a sex offender. The truck was parked in his driveway when a SWAT unit arrived.
