QUINCY, FL. (WTXL)-- According to Quincy Police, a local store went up in flames Saturday.

Units were called out to a fire around 12:30 pm on Jefferson Street in Quincy where a flames broke out at the local Family Dollar.

According to reports, no one was harmed, but it is a sad loss of the community as this store has been around for over 40 years.

Pedestrians inside the building say the worst part about the fire was the smoke. Local resident, Jill President was in the store at the time of the fire to buy school supplies for the six kids she had with her.

President says that she was just worried about getting the kids and had to run to retrieve them one by one. Once out, one of the children's Grandmother drove by and helped to get the kids to safety.

There is no word on the cause of the fire, but the Marshall is investigating. Jan Rchardson Ripp, who owns the store along with her father and sister, says she wants to rebuild.
