SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport woman is gaining attention after her choice in discipline was widely praised by residents.

After her son was suspended from school, Shreveport resident Demetris Payne took to social media as a part of his punishment.

Posting on the Facebook group South Bossier Online Yard Sale, Payne offered her son's yard services for free.

The post read:

"My son has been suspended for three days from school for discipline. He will do your lawn service, he will rake your yard, mow if you supply the mower, pick up trash, or wash your car for free. Maximum three hours. If anyone has a rake they would like to donate will be awesome."

Payne ended the post by saying he would do it all for free.

Payne says since she posted the advertisement, she had to make a schedule to keep up with all the responses.

"He's booked up for this weekend, so it'll be next weekend. I got so many requests from buy, sell, and trade that I have to make a schedule," she wrote in the comments section.

After getting dozens of shares in the group, Payne reposted it to her page so more people could see.

Payne says her son returned back to school Tuesday.

She says he met with all his teachers and set up a plan to ensure he stays on track.

And if she has to up the punishment?

"Instead of two yards a day, he is going to be out there until dark doing it."
