SUWANNEE COUNTY, FL (WTXL) -- A woman is dead and a one-year-old child miraculously escaped major injuries Monday afternoon.
38-year-old Cynthia Louden was driving along SR 247 when, according to witnesses, a large bird flew in front if her vehicle.
Troopers said that Louden swerved to avoid the bird, but it ended up hitting her front windshield. Louden's car overturned several times before it came to a stop facing the opposite end of traffic.
Louden was pronounced dead at the scene. There was also a one-year-old child in the car who was "improperly secures in a child safety seat."
However, the child only sustained minor injuries, said troopers.
