(WTXL) — A 77-year-old Pinetta woman was killed in a early Sunday morning wreck on County Road 150 in Madison County.

Twenty-eight-year-old Cody Allen Cooper was driving with 5-year-old passenger Lindsey Lee Cooper in a 1992 Mitsubishi Mighty Max about midnight Sunday, according to a Florida Highway Patrol release. Edward David Vickers, 55, was driving a Honda Odyssey with 77-year-old passenger Margaret Corbett Walker.

The Mitsubishi was traveling westbound on CR 150 — Bellville Road — through a right curve. Vickers was driving eastbound on CR 150 in the Honda through a left curve. The Mitsubishi crossed into the eastbound lane of County Road 150 as it navigated through the right curve. Vickers saw the Mitsubishi traveling ahead toward him in the eastbound lane and veered his Honda left in a northwest direction, according to the FHP release.

Vickers was unable to avoid Cooper in the Mitsubishi, and they collided in the eastbound lane. Walker, Cooper, Lindsey, and Vickers all suffered serious injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals. Walker was declared dead at Madison County Hospital, FHP Sgt. Josue Mora told WTXL ABC 27 on Monday morning. All involved were wearing seat belts.

An investigation is ongoing, and whether the collision was alcohol-related is also pending, Mora said.
