MOULTRIE, GA (WTXL) - Authorities are opening up a homicide investigation after a 68-year-old woman was found dead in Moultrie.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday.
GBI Special Agent in charge Jamy Steinberg confirmed that a woman was found dead in the area of the 400 block of 3rd Avenue NW.
That woman has now been identified as 68-year-old Mattie Green Harris, who's reported address shows that she lives in the same block her body was found in.
Agents say the investigation is ongoing.
