SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — A woman has been shot and killed during a private party at a Sanford bar.
Seminole County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kristen Bentsen says in a statement that the shooting took place Saturday night at the Cool Breeze Bar.
Bentsen says a deputy was on patrol near the bar when he heard a gunshot and saw people fleeing. The deputy went into the bar and found an injured woman lying on the floor.
Bentsen says 36-year-old Oceannette Hampton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe that a fight broke out which led up to the shooting.
