Woman faces multiple charges after single-car accident in Taylor County

TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A driver is facing multiple charges after crashing her car in a ditch in Taylor County. 

Kelli Evans, 23, of Perry, Fla. is being charged with failing to drive in a single lane and not wearing a seatbelt. 

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-car accident at or about 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 221. 

According to FHP, Evans was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 221 when she veered onto the shoulder of the road. 

FHP says Evans over-corrected causing the car to cross the southbound and northbound lanes of U.S, Highway 221. 

FHP states the car ultimately hit a utility pole before crashing into a ditch filled with water. 

Evans was not injured in the accident and alcohol was not a factor in the incident.

Taylor County Sheriff's Department, Taylor County Fire and Taylor County EMS assisted FHP on the scene.
