HAMILTON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A elderly woman is dead after an accident involving a semi on I-75 in Hamilton County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Anthony Levering, 84, was traveling north on I-75 when he swerved and hit the back of a semi.
As a result, Levering's car spun, coming to a final rest in the middle of the road.
Levering sustained minor injuries, while the passenger, Joan Berkery, 85, was flown to Shands hospital in Gainesville where she later died.
The driver of the semi was uninjuried.
FHP says that they are still investigating the crash.
