TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A woman has been arrested on several drug-related charges.
Kristine D. Barfield, 29, was booked into the Leon County Detention Center on Tuesday. She was arrested by Leon County Sheriff's Office deputies.
She was arrested on one count of possessing or using narcotic equipment and six counts of possessing controlled substance without a prescription.
She remained in jail Wednesday on a $6,500 bond.
On July 30, 2017, a deputy saw Barfield after being dispatched to Pisgah Lane and Pisgah Church Road on reports of a suspicious person. It was nearly 11 p.m., and the deputy saw her standing next to a scooter and asked her why she was walking alone in the dark.
The deputy saw a prescription pill bottle sticking out of her purse, which she said was hers.
The deputy saw no identifiable name on the prescription label, according to a probable cause affidavit. The pill bottle contained various controlled substances, some of which Barfield said were hers but not all of them.
In her purse, the deputy found other drugs and a syringe needle. The deputy released her from the scene pending further investigation.
