TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – A wanted Tallahassee woman has been arrested after police say she approached a person’s vehicle and assaulted them, sparking a group fight at a local Wendy’s drive thru.
According to court documents, on Nov. 19 at 12:30 a.m., Tallahassee Police responded to an assault at the Wendy's on West Pensacola Street.
The victims told police that while they were in line at the drive thru, they were cut off by a Nissan sedan. Police say the victims responded by yelling at the vehicle for skipping the line.
That's when 21-year-old Auriel Franklin got out of the Nissan and sat on the hood of the victims’ car.
Documents say Franklin then reached inside the car and hit one of the victims through an open window. This caused the incident to escalate and multiple members of each vehicle got out their cars and began fighting each other.
While the fight was happening in the drive through, police say employees of the Wendy’s overheard the incident and assisted in breaking up the fight.
Police were able to get surveillance footage of the fight from Wendy's along with cell phone video from witnesses. However, they weren't able to locate Franklin on the night of the incident.
After weeks of investigating, documents say Franklin was arrested on Dec. 14 and was transported to the Leon County Detention Facility. She is facing charges of burglary with assault, battery, and disorderly conduct.
