TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A woman has been arrested in the stabbing death of a man she described as her fiance on the northwest side of Tallahassee.
Malinda Elizabeth Spargo, 22, was booked into the Leon County Detention Center on Thursday on a second-degree murder charge.
She is accused of killing Joseph Jackson, 27, in the 5000 block of Matthew Carter Court on November 2. She told investigators she and Jackson had been dating for five years.
Jackson died from his wounds at the scene as first responders tried to save him. He had a puncture wound to the left side of his chest and a six-inch cut in the middle of his chest, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Spargo told Leon County Sheriff's Office deputies that she had accidentally stabbed Jackson.
When deputies arrived on the scene, Spargo and the homeowner, Tara Hoffman, were providing first aid to Jackson.
She said the stabbing happened after Jackson began slapping her buttocks playfully as she was getting dressed and eventually they began to argue and things became physical.
