Woman Arrested for Killing Her Ex-Husband in Crawfordville

CRAWFORDVILLE, FL (WTXL) - The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman on Monday for the fatal stabbing of her ex-husband.

The sheriff's office says that they arrested Christy Lee Peacock,36, on a premeditated murder charge for the early morning stabbing of her ex-husband, Billy Yon Peacock, Jr., 55. 

The incident happened at 3:50am Monday morning on Henry Forbes Road in Crawfordville, according to the report. 

When deputies arrived, they found Christy Lee Peacock on Dakota Drive, and she was covered in blood.

Deputies say that she surrendered without incident, saying that she stabbed the victim in bed while he slept.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies learned that she left the scene and tried to contact neighbors to contact to relative. The sheriff's office says that dispatch received a 911 call from a neighbor and another from the victim.

Deputies say that they also learned that the Peacocks' 5-year-old female daughter was in the home at the time of the stabbing but was asleep and unaware of what happened. The sheriff's office says that she was unharmed and has been turned over to family.

According to deputies, Wakulla EMS came on the scene, but Billy Yon Peacock, Jr. died at the scene. 

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office says that he had multiple stab wounds to his chest, arms, and torso.
