SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A woman was arrested for child neglect without great bodily harm by the Suwannee County sheriff's Office.
Lorna Jay Cerro-Benton failed to provide reasonable care for children under her care, according to a probable cause document filed by the sheriff's department.
On July 18, Cerro-Benton admitted to driving under the influence of methamphetamine within the last 24 hours at the time of her arrest, and her speech was slurred, the document said.
The arresting deputy said no car seats were in the vehicle for the children and a box of syringes were discovered underneath the driver's seat.
She was booked into the jail on July 19, 2018. Her bond was set at $20,000.
