TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee woman arrested previously for striking a child with a cord on or about the face has been rearrested for aggravated child abuse.

Delainie Meshawn Freeman, 32, was booked into the Leon County Detention Center on Thursday after her sister called law enforcement about Freeman coming to her house to pick up Freeman's two children. Her bond was set at $2,500, and she remained in jail Friday.

On Jan. 8, 2018, Freeman's sister told a Tallahassee Police Department officer that Freeman's two children had been staying with her because Freeman was homeless and she feared Freeman was a threat to the children.

The sister told the officer that Freeman had abused one child again and the incident had not been reported to law enforcement. The child had marks on his face as a result of the abuse, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Freeman had been arrested for child abuse in November 2017 after one of her children accidentally cracked the windshield on a car and Freeman had struck him in the face with a phone charger.
