VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) -- Police arrested a woman after they received a tip she was getting a package full of drugs delivered through the mail.

On October 6, 2015, VPD Narcotics detectives received information that a shipment of marijuana was going to be delivered to an address on Crestwood West in Valdosta.
After conducting some background investigation regarding the package, detectives set up surveillance and observed a delivery being made to a residence on that street.
Detectives approached Jennifer Bishop, w/f, 53 years of age, who accepted the package.
Upon opening the package, detectives located approximately 14 grams of marijuana, 64 pills of THC, and 5.3 pounds of gummy candies that are suspected of being infused with THC.
Bishop was transported to Lowndes County jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent- felony and felony possession of a schedule I- drug. Chief Childress stated, "I am very pleased with the recent efforts by the Valdosta Police Department Narcotics Unit and their efforts to intercept significant quantities of illegal drugs before they hit the streets of our city".
