TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- More than 50 entrepreneurs dedicated their time to developing a technology-based, simulated company in hopes of walking away with a cash prize.
Aspiring entrepreneurs presented investor pitches before a panel of judges for their chance to take home more than $40,000 in cash and in-kind prizes from local businesses and organizations.
Airpreneurs, a startup that marketed an innovative process for measuring air acidity was the big winner.
Their Rapid Acid Tester took home first place. Their pitch was to commercialize the first portable apparatus to detect total acidity in airbourne contamination. Under the leadership of Jeff Ragan and CEO Alvin Bednaeau they put together a presentation hoping to convince investors to finance a production and commercialization.
"It was intense at times," said Ragan. "It was a pleasure to work with such sharp people and to see them come together and work as a team was an amazing experience."
