WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTXL) - While the gun debate rages on, the country remains split on the solution.
After the Parkland School shooting, 6 out of 10 Americans blame the White House and Congress for not doing enough to prevent mass shootings.
According to an ABC/Washington Post poll, 77 percent say they think better mental health screening and treatments are the solution.
Only 58 percent say stricter gun control could have prevented the massacre.
That's down from two years ago.
"People are frustrated that the gun control debate has not moved for as long as it has. But there are also flummoxed as to what to do about it," Klein said.
This week, the President shifted his position on gun control.
The White House says he's open to tougher background checks for gun purchases.
The New York Times is reporting, hours after the shooting, Twitter accounts suspected of having links to Russia, tried to divide the country, by starting conflicting hashtags on the gun debate.
